Busy Day in Johannesburg

It's been a busy day here at MNT headquarters in Johannesburg, here's what's been going on:
  • This morning coaches and some players headed to an optional gym session. Some players opted for sleeping in.
  • After lunch, Bob Bradley and Carlos Bocanegra participated in a press-conference at the hotel. You can listen to the full podcast here (all 20 minutes of it).
  • Training was split into two groups today: the starters from Wednesday night went to the gym to do some regeneration, while everybody else went to Rand Stadium for a training session. The stadium, which was recently renovated, is going to be the future home to Jomo Cosmos.
  • We'll be back later with a video of the press conference as well as some photos from training...

@USSOCCER
Good podcast of the interviews. These are definitely one of my favorite parts of ussoccer.com coverage of the USMNT. Thanks.

In general,

I especially liked the part where Bob said "there are great soccer fans in the U.S."

I believe his comment extends beyond the friends and families of players and staff. The other day I posted that the only person Bob should lose his job to is Hiddink (not for any reason other than I think Hiddink has proven he is the best National team coach any program can get and we should take him whenever he becomes available), but this kind of comment sure makes me proud to have an American coach. He knows we're out here, so I'm sure his players know we're out here too and that we care.

(Keeping it real though, I'll never understand the Bradley/Kljestan picks in the Brazil game!)

Regardless, what a great time to be a U.S. fan. You couldn't get a better roller coaster ride at a Six Flags park!
