BOBBY CONVEY (READING)

The News: Reading defeated Liverpool 3-1 on Saturday. Bobby Convey was credited with an assist on his team’s third goal.

Of Note: Reading’s victory was their first ever against Liverpool, and the first time that Steve Coppell’s team has earned three points against the so-called “Big Four” in the Premier League. The Royals remain in 12th place, but confidence in the team camp must be high after putting in probably their best performance of the season.

Convey was effervescent on the left-side of midfield for Reading, and it was his nicely threaded pass that set up James Harper for the final goal of the game. Marcus Hahnemann put in a solid shift in goal for Reading, making five saves in the win.

Up Next: Reading will look to take points from their next three games against Birmingham City, Sunderland and West Ham. First the Royals travel to the midlands to face Birmingham at St. Andrews Stadium on Saturday the 15th.
